Brief review of La Casa del Conde

Cecilia, Alejandro and family To talk about how la Casa del Conde came to be, I have to talk about my brother Jorge briefly.

We are a family from Lima, my brother Jorge completed all his professional studies in the United States, lover of nature and animals since childhood, he was transferred over 30 years ago to this zone by the oil company he worked for and upon his return to Lima, he considered that was not what he really wanted, he resigned and decided to settle in this place where he spent almost all his life from his early twenties till seven years ago when he passed away.

He bought this land at a time when nobody was interested in it and dedicated wholeheartedly to build this place, doing it his way, without architects, and like the local people, to sow the soil and have his animals, which would later on turn into his project of having a lodging.

All the inhabitants of Pisac called him “El Conde”, (The Earl) as well as all his friends in Cusco and the Sacred Valley, hence the name “La Casa del Conde” is born.

Now, my son Alejandro, who bought this property from the brothers, and me, Cecilia, decided to take on the task of rebuilding it, and thus have made this dream come true little by little.

As far as I am concerned, this is a wonderful gift that has made my life. I adore living here. Like my brother, I love nature and especially flowers, I enjoy the peacefulness, learning every day about so many things the city and its noise prevented me from seeing.

My profession has been mostly that of a homemaker, which in some way I continue to be in practice for my guests and I love it. At some point of my life I traveled the world and now the world comes to me through so many different people that it is wonderful and each day a wondrous surprise…it is as if time did not exist, or maybe existed in a thousand different ways but without minding the calendar.

Whoever desires to come and share a slice of my experience, is MOST WELCOME TO MY PRIVATE PARADISE, la casa del Conde for everyone and no-one.

Cecilia
